When U2 visited Athens. ..

They broke hearts!!!

While breathless thousands of fans counted the minutes on the big screen of the Olympic Stadium, Bono and his friends made their triumphant entrance.

Amazing time in a pandemonium of enthusiasm events and by the sounds of "Space oddity" as U2, crowd of 80,000 fans for the first time in their first concert in Athens! !!

What course he was sounded when the "Beautiful day" is impossible to describe with words!!!

Songwriter, musician, writer and fighter for peace, which became world famous as a member of the legendary band
"the Beatles".

John lived for music and in March 1957 he founded his first band with jazz and blues influences.

In July 1957 knows Paul McCartney!

In mid-1959, the band renamed Beatles and begins performances in Hamburg and Liverpool.

The success was to become great.

The Beatles thrown on top and automatically converted into a living legend!

The high point was undoubtedly the album "Imagine" (1971) and the title track.

FLYING THE KITE‏

Clean Monday we have the custom of flying the kite. Where however comes this custom?

The kite ( "kite, tako, papalote, drachen, χαρταετός ") appears to be flown for the first time around 200 BC in China and Malaysia.

There they built the first kites from silk and bamboo.

In kites then went to Korea and Japan. In Europe came around 1400 AD by European explorers who traveled in Asia. During the two World Wars were used as observation devices.

Today every country has its own traditions around the flying kite.

Traditional Maypole (ΠΑΡΑΔΟΣΙΑΚΟ ΓΑΊ΄ΤΑΝΑΚΙ)

The traditional maypole!

Listening only our word comes to mind our childhood and the traditional carnival games we played.

The traditional maypole is one of the few customs which preserves nowadays. He came to Greece from Pontus and Asia Minor.

The refugees who came after the persecution they experienced, and brought along their customs, heritage of their ancestors.

The word is a diminutive medieval phrase meaning silk cord.

The traditional maypole takes the 13 people dancing. The one holding the middle pole and the other holding midnight ribbons, each in a different color.

The dancers form six pairs and dance facing. Singing a traditional song, the ribbons are mixed and form a nice pattern.

After all come very close, then begin to dance in the opposite direction, the traditional maypole detangle and the dance ends.

Merengue

Merengue is a style of Dominican music and dance partners hold each other in a closed position. The leader holds the follower 's waist with the leader's right hand, while holding the follower's right hand with the leader's left hand at the follower 's eye level.

Partners bend their knees slightly left and right, thus making the hips move left and right. The hips of the leader and follower move in the same direction throughout the song.

Partners may walk sideways or circle each other, in small steps. They can switch to an open position and do separate turns without letting go each other's hands or releasing one hand.

During these turns they may twist and tie their handhold into intricate pretzels. Other choreographies are possible.

Although the tempo of the music may be frenetic, the upper body is kept majestic and turns are slow, tupically four beats/steps per complete turn.

A spectacular film with twists, action and spectacle.

The Captain America becomes comfortable in a lovable superhero with his ideals and values, a man determined to give everything for his friends, the country and the world.

The scenes are spectacular.

The battles are melee but the script breaths give space to the characters.

Foxtrot

The foxtrot is a smooth, progressive dance characterized by long, continuous flowing movements across the dance floor. It is danced to big band ( usually vocal ) music.

Developed in the 1910s, the foxtrot reached its height of popularity in the 1930s, and remains practiced today.

The dance was premiered in 1914, quickly catching the eye of the husband and wife duo Vernon and Irene Castle, who lent the dance its signature grace and style.

Over time, the foxtrot split into slow and quick versions, referred to as "foxtrot "
and "quickstep" respectively.
